"I do not know what other reviewer is talking about. I have played several DVD & Blurrays and there was noting but a beautiful picture to watch. There was no problem with the black bands on any DVD played. The bands were so black it looked like part of the frame. Just installed this morning, but so far everything is outstanding. Everyone is in awe of the picture quality in HD and regular. In Blueray it blows everyone away. Nothing negative to say at this point. Could not be happier with this purchase.
